Erin Rayner’s journey with horses began at the age of 8, when her mother arranged for her to take four riding lessons before attending her first Girl Scout sleepaway camp. What started as a precaution quickly became a life-changing passion. From the moment she sat in the saddle, Erin knew horses would be a part of her life forever.
Erin pursued her academic ambitions at San Diego State University, earning a degree in Economics. Though she initially planned to take a break from horses to focus on her studies, the hiatus lasted only three months before she found herself working at a local barn. By her sophomore year, Erin had launched her first riding school, Royal Oak Stables, in Del Mar, California.
In 2010, Erin and her family relocated to England for her husband’s work. During this time, Erin focused on raising her young children while staying connected to her equestrian roots. She founded Twinkle Tots, a toddler group that combined her business acumen with her dedication to family.
In 2017, Erin’s family returned to the U.S., settling in Bradenton, Florida. Initially unsure about starting another riding school, Erin recognized a local need for a horsemanship-focused beginner program. She founded Opportunity Farm, naming it after the barn where she first learned to ride. As the farm flourished, Erin discovered a new passion—coaching others in the equine industry to build sustainable and successful businesses. Her firsthand experience and business expertise made her a sought-after mentor
Today, Erin is furthering her education by completing certifications in Life and Business Coaching as well as Positive Psychology. Her vision is to create a coaching program that addresses not only the business aspects of equine entrepreneurship but also the well-being of the individual.
Erin believes that a thriving equine business starts with a balanced and empowered owner. "If I can help one equine business grow into a solid enterprise where the owner has time for themselves, employees earn a living wage, and dreams become reality, then it’s all worth it," she says. With her unique blend of practical experience, business knowledge, and genuine care, Erin is making a profound impact on the equine industry, one client at a time.
